Holiday flights at risk amid staff shortages; Menopause hinders many women at work

Last year, 173,000 female employees indicated that menopause sometimes influenced their work. That is 55 percent of workers in menopause. Eight percent struggled daily, nine percent at least once a week, Statistics Netherlands and TNO reported. 

Despite a heated debate in the Tweede Kamer on the Prime Minister’s habit of deleting his text messages, Mark Rutte survived a motion of no confidence against him. PVV leader Geert Wilders and the Van Haga group submitted the motion.

The monkeypox virus has not yet been diagnosed in the Netherlands, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) announced. The virus is extremely rare in Europe but appeared in Italy, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, and Great Britain in recent weeks. The United States also reported cases of the virus. Monkeypox occurs mainly in West- and Central Africa.

The Netherlands, working with Germany, Belgium, and Denmark, want to build dozens of windmills in the North Sea. These wind farms must generate at least 150 gigawatts of power by 2050, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate confirmed. The plans were unveiled at a meeting in Denmark on Wednesday.
